Three-Time National Champion Vander Wilt Joins Mustangs as Graduate Assistant

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A former three-time national champion has joined Mustangs cross country, as Aubrie Vander Wilt joins the staff as a graduate assistant following a successful career at Wartburg College.

Vander Wilt, an Ackley, Iowa native, set a Wartburg school record in the steeplechase with a time of 10:14, and collected 14 All-American honors over her illustrious career. The 2020 A-R-C Cross Country Runner of the Year won three national championships, two in the steeplechase and one in the distance medley. Vander Wilt earned five A-R-C All-Conference honors in cross country with three cross country All-American honors.

Along with her achievements on the course and on the track, Vander Wilt excelled in the classroom, earning four academic all-conference honors along with four CSC (formerly CoSIDA) All-American honors.

Vander Wilt graduated from Wartburg in 2024 with a degree in Sociology and Psychology.
