Schlotman named NAIA second-team all-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Mount Mercy senior left-hander Kobey Schlotman was named a 2022 NAIA second-team all-American as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches' Association All-America Committee.
Schlotman, the Heart of America Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection, is Mount Mercy's first all-American since 2012. He led the Heart and was fourth in the nation with a 1.64 earned run average while going 9-1 for the Mustangs.
Schlotman's nine victories ranked third in the Heart while his 105 strikeouts were fifth in the league. He threw four complete games for the Mustangs, allowing 50 hits with 105 strikeouts and just 19 walks in 71-1/3 innings. That's an average of 13.25 strikeouts per nine innings.
