Several Mustangs Headline Heart Baseball All-Conference

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced the list of baseball all-conference team members and postseason awards, as voted on by league coaches.

Nick Meyer and Tyler Nagelbach each landed on the all-conference first team. Meyer, a senior from West Des Moines, is having a career year, notching career highs in batting average (.340), doubles (11), home runs (7), and RBIs (40). He has also recorded more hits in 2026 than in his previous three seasons combined while also scoring 20 runs. Meanwhile, Nagelbach has been a fixture on the mound this season, notching at least seven wins on the mound in back-to-back seasons. Nagelbach is also nearing a career high in strikeouts, currently sitting at 44, while recording a career low ERA of 3.86.

Five players: Lane Spieker, Derek Einertson, Cole Conner, Jack Turgasen, and Jake Weissenberger, all landed on the second team. In Spieker's first campaign in a Mustang uniform, the junior has hit a team high 13 homers while driving in 48, along with registering 20 stolen bases. Einertson, in his grad year, is having the best season of his career at Mount Mercy, recording career highs in batting average (.366), triples (3), and RBIs (41). Einertson would also land on the Gold Glove team as a right fielder.

On the mound, Weissenberger has registered highs in strikeouts (21) and ERA (2.89), appearing in 17 games out of the bullpen. Turgasen is also having one of his best seasons on the mound, registering a new career high in wins with six, while also throwing a complete game and striking out 66 batters, while collecting an ERA of 3.15. Cole Conner also has had a remarkable season on the mound, registering an ERA of 3.86 while also tying a school record for strikeouts in a game with 14, set during the 2026 Heart tournament.

On the honorable mention team was Christian Graves, Chase Gerwig, and Drew Terpins. Graves has made an impact in his one season so far as a Mustang, belting nine homers while recording a batting average of .349, including registering 13 doubles and a triple. Gerwig is also in his first season as a Mustang, and he has registered a batting average of .328 while registering 32 RBIs and four doubles, while landing on the Gold Glove team at second base. His middle infield partner, Drew Terpins, is coming off a season where he was named the Heart Freshman of the Year and a second team all-conference member, adding an honorable mention team to his accolades. Terpins' numbers this year exceed last year's marks, setting highs in hits (56), doubles (12), RBIs (36), and batting average (.346).

Head coach Jack Dahm was also named the Heart Co-Coach of the Year. Dahm has guided the team to a 38-13 mark in a season in which the on base percentage is the third highest in school history. The 38 wins are tied for fifth in school history for most in a single season.
