Bio
Oreskovich is in his third season as the team’s hitting coach. He came back to Mount Mercy as a student assistant in 2021 after playing for the Mustangs in 2018 and 2019, then became the full-time hitting coach in the fall of 2021. Oreskovich also works with the catchers. Before coming to Mount Mercy, Oreskovich played at McHenry County College in 2016 and 2017, going to the Junior College World Series in 2016 and winning a school-record 50 games that year. In 2017, he was first-team all-conference in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference. In his two years at MCC, the team won 91 games. In 2019 at Mount Mercy, Oreskovich received Heart of America Athletic Conference honorable mention and was named to the all-tournament team at the Heart of America postseason tournament.
Prior to Mount Mercy, Oreskovich coached at his alma mater, McHenry County College, in 2020. He had the pleasure of coaching seven student-athletes who moved on to play Division I baseball. Since returning to Mount Mercy, the offense under Oreskovich has seen rising numbers, including the highest team batting average over the past 10 years. In addition, the Mustangs have posted the highest team slugging percentage, highest team hits, highest team home runs, and highest team RBIs in the last 15 years. Oreskovich has coached three first-team al-conference players in the last two years and an honorable mention all-conference player.
Oreskovich also manages the Burlington Bees of the Prospect League in the summer. He will be going on his third year managing the team in the summer of 2024 and fourth year overall as a coach with the Bees. He has had two players move on to professional baseball from the summer league, including a fifth-round pick by the Kansas City Royals in the 2023 Major League Baseball draft and another player competing overseas.
A native of Carpentersville, Illinois, Oreskovich is a graduate of Mount Mercy University with a bachelor of business administration (sports management). He earned his associate degree from McHenry County College in 2017. Oreskovich is also the athletic recruiting coordinator at Mount Mercy.
