For the second match in a row, the Mount Mercy women's soccer team rallied from a second-half deficit to win a Heart of America Athletic Conference against Graceland on Saturday at the John Rasmussen Soccer Complex in Lamoni.
First-half shots were even at five each, but the Mustangs dominated the secone period, totaling nine shots while the Yellowjackets couldn't even muster one. Celeste Robledo scored Graceland's goal in the 35th minute, then it was Ava D'Ambrosio (63') and Miran Sakai (82') that brought Mount Mercy all the way back.
The win moved the Mustangs to 3-4-1 overall and 2-3-0 in the Heart while the Yellowjackets dipped to 1-8-1 and 0-6-0 in conference play. Mount Mercy travels to Marshall, Mo., to battle 13th-ranked Missouri Valley on Oct. 5 at 5:00 pm.
